This series began as something I could build with my mom — a project for presence, for hands working together, for something she could see and touch and be proud of. My parents both have Alzheimer's.

The first piece, Big Bobby the horse, was made together with her. I set up the layers, she helped assemble. She remembers making it. She tells everyone who sees it, proudly. She points to it on the wall and says: I made that. And she did.

As the designs grew more complex, I fell in love with the process. What started as a project for my mother became a full series — five animals, each built with the same care as the first.
